Upcyling Hand Embroidery with Jo

Date & Time: 1-3pm Thursday 6th June

Location: Lytham Ymca Mythop Road, Lytham St Anne's, FY8 4HB 

Cost: £25: Includes some materials; stick & wash fabric stabalizer, calico & embroidery threads to practice stitches.

We recommend you bring a selection of embroidery threads (this could be from a previous workshop), an Embroidery hoop & an item of clothing you’d like to work onto.

Who is this suitable for: Any over 16- this session requires previous hand sewing experience!

What you'll learn & make: This class is aimed at those will some embroidery experience who want to develop their skills. During this 2 hour session you will advance your skills Choose from a selection of designs or design your own; learn about transferring a motif(s) onto your chosen upcycle item. Gain help with choosing appropriate stitches for the design, placement & layout of designs on the garment, cap or canvas shoes. There will also be support with how to negotiate embroidering on an already constructed item.

Although the session focuses on fashion/up-cycling these are great transferable stitches to card making, soft furnishings & decorative pieces.

Take time to slow down this year & enjoy this mindful craft you can take on the go with you.
