Date & Time: 10-2pm Saturday 20th April

Location: Ymca Lytham, Mythop Road, Lytham St Annes, FY8 4HB.

Cost: £30 no materials included

What you'll Learn & Make: Bring along pre cut pattern pieces OR cut out a simple pattern on the day (Pattern recommendation details will be sent out via email upon booking this workshop) to construct on your overlocker. Feel confident to change stitch length, balancing thread thread tensions, change the differential feed to suit your fabric, adjusting knife position, identify & be confident with seam allowances. Create seams, cuffs, neck bands, etc with your overlocker and see just how quick & easy constructing garments on the overlocker can be!

Who is this suitable for:

Over 16's- This course is perfect if you have attended the 'overlocker basics' workshop or have used been using your overlock but feel you would like to extend your confidence/skills further.

(The timings of this workshop should enable you to complete the garment within the session but each person will work at a different pace so please be aware you may have tasks to complete after the session finishes)

**Please make sure your overlocker is in FULL WORKING ORDER if you have opted to bring your own, if you have purchased/received your machine second hand we recommend you take it for a service prior to the workshop (we can highly recommend KN Machine Repairs). If your machine is not in good working order we cannot guarantee you will be able to complete the activities planned in the session- for the fairness of the other attendees tutor time will be split equally between everyone on the session.

Getting the Most out of your Overlocker

I enjoyed my first visit to the Sewing Institute which was very informative and I managed to pick up some useful tips. There were a few more ladies there on the day and everyone was very friendly. I booked the follow-on course before I left.

It was excellent, as usual, full of tips and very good information. I would and, already have, recommended this to others.
